Telehealth Appointment Grass Valley Roseville

Telehealth is in full swing.

Here’s how it works and why we’re doing it.

The Radius Physical + Sports Rehab Team of Providers wishes to announce they are available to support new and existing patients with the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal aches/pains/injuries, in the comfort and safety of their own homes, over the internet via Telehealth appointments. Radius’ health care professionals can achieve tremendous treatment progress through such virtual visits, which are increasingly being accepted by insurance carriers.  And, electing this treatment modality can help lessen the burden on primary care MDs, and Urgent Care and Emergency Room personnel who are fighting Covid-19 right now.

At Radius we understand that the Covid-19 virus has created an unprecedented challenge to our health care system. At the same time however, we appreciate that individuals still suffer from other, often very painful conditions, injuries and musculoskeletal symptoms. If you are enduring such a condition, the Radius team is available to help you identify, treat, and recover from it, safely and effectively.

What to Expect

New Patient Functional Exam

Medical History

Your provider will review your medical history with you, including all factors that may be contributing to your condition. This baseline understanding of where you've been helps uncover indications and contraindications toward rendering a diagnosis.

Orthopedic/Neuromuscular Tests + Functional Movement Analysis

Every injury or pain condition is different. In order for your provider to pinpoint the origin of your pain (not always right where it hurts!), he/she performs relevant orthopedic tests which rule in or rule out the root cause. This portion of the exam is often active, rather than sedentary (like medical history discussion).

Diagnosis + Report of Findings

We are all about education. Once an accurate diagnosis is rendered, we share our findings with you - in easily understood terms. It's helpful to understand why pain may have come about, and what types of repetitive movements or sustained postures exacerbate the condition.

Rehabilitation at 1st Visit

We don't like to waste time - yours or ours. If you are a candidate for care, based on your diagnosis, we will proceed with rehabilitation right away to get you on your way to full recovery.

Existing Patient Follow Up Visit

Check In

Your provider will begin by getting on the same page. He/she may ask how you’re doing and how your current symptoms are present and improving. This is a great opportunity to ask clinical questions, and get them answered.

Active Rehabilitation

Your provider will walk you through customized exercises and stretches relevant to your injury or condition in real time to ensure you’re performing them properly. To fit your progress, you’ll be prescribed new rehab to work on during and after the visit. In addition to assisting the tissue in healing properly, the rehab program addresses imbalances and weaknesses identified in the diagnostic exam. Retraining the neuromuscular connection (muscle memory) serves to alleviate symptoms and prevent the same condition from arising down the road.

Follow Up

After your visit we’ll email you a summary of the rehab covered and newly prescribed, along with descriptions. Feel free to reply to the email with any questions.
